Original 1951 photograph of baseball Hall of Famer Bill Veeck as he shows off a new prosthetic leg along with his doctors at the Veterans Administration who helped him procure the appendage. Smiles abound despite the sad overtones of a vibrant young man who lost his leg in the service of his country as the underlying backstory. Stamped on the back by the photographer and in great shape overall with some mild handling wear.
