From 1894-1903 Frank J. Bonner was a well traveled veteran of baseball for some pretty good teams. He was a fantastic player who was done in by alcoholism. He was a member of the 1894-1895 Baltimore Orioles squads that played for the Temple Cup and then bounced around between St. Louis, Brooklyn and Washington of the National League before landing in 1902 with the Cleveland Bronchos of the new American League. Pictured with a dashing mustache and in full uniform, this is the only image of Bonner we have ever seen. A nice touch to this image is the advertisement for Carl Horner's studio on the back and what we are certain is a signature on the upper left corner of the reverse as well as a note from the newspaper of his identity. Bonner would pass away in 1905 making anything related to him incredibly scarce with this image being the finest on the planet! Condition and quality make this a perfect 10/10 with note to a slight trim by a newspaper over 100 years ago for publication.
