1929 Silver gelatin photograph of young professional golfer Horton Smith from the United States as he practices before the start of the Ryder Cup. He would soon be on his way to Europe to compete with the big boys. His career would really take off the next year in 1930 as he would be the only golfer to beat Bobby Jones that year and eventually win two of the first three Masters Tournaments. One of the best early images of Smith we have offered and condition is nice with a few light pinholes and some artistic tracing. Clarity and quality of the image are both outstanding!
