1931 Photograph of coach Knute Rockne as he recovers from illness at the famous Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Caption on the back notes that Rockne was advised by doctors to take it easy. He didn't listen. He continued to travel and lecture which led him to board a plane in March 1931 (a few months after this photo was taken) and the plane went down taking the legendary coach with it. A stunning and rare image with importance that resonates to this very day. Photo has the original paper caption from the International News and overall it is a high grade example.
