Large 1919 portrait photograph of the man who was mot harmed by the Chicago White Sox scandal, Happy Felsch. While Joe Jackson's legend was only enhanced and the other stars of the team were nearing the end of their careers, only one man on the team could be classified as a star on the rise, and that was Oscar "Happy" Felsch. He was just 28 years old when the scandal occurred and was coming off his fifth season in the big leagues. His average during his last seasons was .338 and he was emerging as one of the top players in baseball. Now he is just a "Black Sox Gambler" but had his career been allowed to play out, he might be "Hall of Famer Happy Felsch." The offered portrait photograph in uniform from the International Film Service is a huge image in great shape, a perfect 10/10 in fact, that is his finest image we have handled. With exceptional clarity and quality, this is as good as photography got during the 1910's! The photo comes pre-certified by PSA as a "Type 1" as well with a full letter of authenticity. For the investor or collector who wants the best, you have found it here!
