Absolutely stunning 1913 cabinet photograph of the American League Ballpark that was still being used as the home of the New York Highlanders (Yankees) the previous season. With advertising still adorning the outfield walls, the park lay abandoned for one year only (1913) before it was demolished a year later (1914). A two part panoramic photograph from George Wheeler and with his signature on the lower left corner, this is a perfect condition image with clarity that is off the charts. Easily among the finest images of any stadium we have handled and a nearly priceless piece of Yankees history that we have never seen before. An exciting new discovery that is sure generate buzz in the collecting world and one that we believe is completely unique! There is even one of the team benches still poetically sitting along the first base line!
