Before he anchored the Brooklyn Dodgers dynasty of the 1940's and 1950's, Pee Wee Reese was a local Kentucky boy who was trying to establish himself on the minor league "Colonels" and land a job in the big leagues. Never an outstanding hitter, but always good with the glove, Pee Wee would get his chance with the Dodgers in 1940 and the rest is history. Images of Reese from before his time in the big leagues are quite rare as he was not a highly touted prospect and the only examples we have ever seen are team images with this being the only individual photo in uniform we have ever seen! Clear and bold, the image dates itself with the Centennial patch on the sleeve and it also carries a facsimile signature as well. A silver gelatin beauty, this is arguably his greatest image ever offered!
