One of the craziest moments in sports history occurred in game four of the 1941 World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers. With Brooklyn leading the game, Tommy Henrich missed on strike three and the series was tied... but Owen dropped the ball. Henrich went to first and the Yankees rallied to win the game and eventually the series. Sensing the impact of his error, Owen was inconsolable after the game. He is seen here with his young wife as she tries in vain to lift his spirits at the hotel. A touching and poignant image in great shape issued by the Associated Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption.
