Bob Thurman was one of the brightest young stars in the game when he made his debut for the Homestead Grays in 1946. He batted .387, .367, and .355 in his first three years before being snatched up by organized white baseball. It took a few years of adjustment, but he found his form after coming up with the Reds in 1955 and he finished a fine career batting .314! The offered image is one of his best from photographer Don Wingfield and stamped on the back and presenting here in fine condition overall.
