Marv Williams was one of the top sluggers in the Negro Leagues and had the game been more progressive by about a decade, he would surely have been a top player in the big leagues as well. He broke into the Negro Leagues in 1943 and immediately made an impact batting .394. He continued his dominance for nearly a decade before being signed into organized white baseball, but in an era where the color line was still largely in effect, he toiled away in the minors putting up big numbers but never getting a shot. As a result, images of Williams are tough to find. Seen here in 1956 with the Tulsa Oilers, Williams would once again dominate batting .322 and slugging 26 homers with 111 rbi! A beautiful image in great condition which is surely one of his finest that exists.
