It took Elroy Face a while to get going, but boy once he got started! His 1959 season is still the absolute benchmark for a relief pitcher having won 17 consecutive games and finishing the season with a record of 18-1. He would cap it all off the next season as a key member of the Pittsburgh Pirates World Series Champions! The offered rare and early image captures Face in uniform during the Mexican Winter League and it is the only one of its kind we have ever seen.
