In the early days of International baseball, players could be local stars, travel to the United States and play exhibition games against major leaguers, then return home as celebrities, only to be lost in the annals of history forever. This group of all stars from Mexico made the journey north of the border to play top level talent, but their team and the names of the players are unknown. A silver gelatin snapshot that is unique, this is the earliest Mexican team photograph we have ever seen and it comes from the scrapbook of a prominent sports writer in Chicago. Dating to 1907, the image is clear and bold with a corner chip and a few creases being the only flaw. There could be an important early player in here waiting to be discovered.
