Rarely do the home run champions in the American and National League collide for ultimate supremacy in the World Series, but just such a thing happened in 1928 when Jim Bottomley of the Cardinals (31 homers) and Babe Ruth of the Yankees (54 homers) met in the fall classic. They are seen here offering congratulations on being the kings of the world before their clash. Ruth and the Yankees would win the series, and the babe would cement his place as home run champ as he hit three more homers to Bottomley's one. A really beautiful image of the Babe and possibly the only one where he is with the long distance champion of the National League that presents here from the International News in nearly perfect condition!
