Basketball was invented as an indoor sport, but over the years the idea of outdoor playground basketball has really taken root in America. In 1948 however, it was a novelty and this is a rare photograph showing an NBA team (the New York Knickerbockers) practicing outdoors at Bear Mountain. A really cool image in beautiful condition issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
