1943 Photograph of young Alex Smart who had just been promoted to the Montreal Canadiens and had himself a game for the ages… in fact, it is still the greatest debut in hockey history. In his first game as a big leaguer, Smart had three goals and an assist for Montreal leading them to a 5-1 victory over the Blackhawks. The offered photograph is dated from 1943 and the paper caption talks about this amazing debut. Condition is perfect and the photo was issued by the International News.
