Everyone who knew baseball in the 1930's and 1940's would tell you the best pitcher in the game was Satchel Paige. Many have speculated that he would have won 400 games if baseball had been a bit more progressive and allowed him to pitch in his prime. While Paige was surely bitter, he didn't let it show and relished the chance to finally pitch in the Major Leagues in 1948 as he joined the Cleveland Indians. The offered photo is s spectacular piece of photographic art as it captures the pitcher in uniform and showing off his form from head to toe. Stamped on the back by local Cleveland photographer Perry Cragg, this is being offered here for the first time ever. Quite possibly the best photograph of Paige in action for the Indians that exists!
