1941 Photograph of Joe DiMaggio during the frenzied height of his hitting streak. At the time this image was snapped, Joe was the talk of the Nation as he approached the record (44 games straight). The stunning horizontal photograph offered here captures Joe who was hitless until the late innings of the game (this image was taken in the fourth inning), desperately trying to extend the streak with his worried Yankees Teammates standing at the top of the dugout steps looking on in nervous anticipation of the event. Easily identifiable is Lefty Gomez and Joe McCarthy sits to the far right as Joe sizes up the pitcher in his classic batting form. Even the Umpire and Catcher seem to understand the importance of the event! Photo has crystal clarity and is of the highest quality. Issued by Acme with a full and detailed paper caption on the back, the photo is in nice condition with one tiny border chip and a small crease on the upper right. Overall a premium "Hit Streak" example!
