The 1933 Goudey set is one of the most iconic of all time and certainly the most famous of the era. Of all the cards in the set, the one that is constantly among the most popular is the horizontal pose of superstar Rogers Hornsby. The perfect use of space, color, and action photography this is one of the few horizontal cards and has a bit of a cult following. In all the years we have been searching archives and looking through vintage photo collections, this is the only vintage example of the photo used to make Hornsby's 1933 Goudey card we have ever seen. Die cut and glued to thicker board for publication, the photo is completely original and presents well. A cool companion piece to one of the more attractive cards ever issued.
