Scott is seen holding a piece of jewelry and standing by the classic Floral Horse Shoe that were common gifts to ballplayers in the early 20th century. While Everett Scott is now a footnote to both Lou Gehrig and Cal Ripken, at the time this event happened it was an astounding accomplishment considering how rough the game of Baseball was and how poor the quality of the fields and medical training were!
