Hank Gowdy was quite a guy. A star baseball player who gave it all up and was the first player to sign up for WWI. He fought valiantly and became a national hero for his efforts. The offered image shows Gowdy, recently returned from the war, dated 1919, and resuming his baseball career with the Braves. A nice silver gelatin image which is probably the only one that exists. Condition is beautiful!
