One of the most famous images ever taken of Marilyn Monroe was done in a 1957 photo shoot for LIFE Magazine by noted photographer Richard Avedon. She was dressed like a 19th century burlesque star and riding an antique bicycle to create a fun contrast between sex symbol and girl next door, and it worked. Originally taken in color, this is a completely vintage black and white example issued by her studio for publicity after the magazine came out and displaying here in nice shape overall with crystal clarity and some light creasing at the corners from handling. This is the only vintage example of this iconic photo we have ever seen in any form!
