1950 Original photograph of one of the most important moments in baseball history as Jackie Robinson receives his 1949 MVP award from Ford Frick which was the first for a black player in a major sport. While Jackie had already laid the framework for his success in 1947 by breaking the color barrier, it was his MVP Award that really solidified his place among the greats in the game and put to rest once and for all the issue of race being used for exclusion in sports. The offered photo clearly shows the trophy, crystal clear, as Robinson receives it. Issued by Acme and stamped on the back, there are some really cool ink notations on the front memorializing the date, person and award. This is one of only a handful of examples from this day and this is one of the tops in the world!
