Dramatic 1944 photograph (Issued shortly after the new year in 1945) of American soldiers who had surrendered to the Germans in Belgium but were gunned down and their bodies left in the snow anyways during the waning days of WWII. The photo shows their comrades digging out the frozen bodies for proper burial. This event has gone down in history as one of the worst of WWII and is called "The Malmedy Massacre." A tragic piece of history, issued by the Associated Press and in fine condition overall.
