A forgotten piece of history in the saga of Charles Lindbergh and his flight from New York to Paris was the cross country "warm up" from San Diego to the east coast. Here we see Lucky Lindy as his plane takes of from San Diego with big hopes of things to come. Taken by photographer Harry Bishop and stamped on the back, this is a rare image as most people thought Lindbergh did not stand a chance. In fact, the overwhelming thought was that if he even made it to New York he would crash in the Atlantic; this is why the crowd was so sparse to see him off. A rare piece of aviation history and one we have never seen before. Condition is quite nice with some scrapbook paper on the back being the only flaw.
