Original 1960 photograph of playwright Arthur Miller and his starlet wife Marilyn Monroe trying to put on a happy face during what Miller described as the lowest point of his life. He was trying to direct his wife on the set of the "Misfits" and had to watch as she was a disaster on and off the set. Shortly thereafter they would separate and of course Monroe would be dead with two years. A tragic and touching image which is one of the first of its kind we have seen from this late in their turbulent relationship.
