1961 Was one of the most unusual of all the Masters tournaments. Arnold Palmer was the leader by two strokes with only nine holes to go before rain forces play to stop. In an unusual turn of events, the men were forced to replay the entire final round (not just resume from their spots at the time of the cancellation) and as such it set Palmer back and allowed for Gary Player to come from behind and take the title. The offered photo shows Palmer soaked and back in the clubhouse after the rain forced the now legendary stoppage. A fantastic original from the International News, this image is an original "vintage 1" with the paper label glued to the front so this could be used to transmit wire photos across the country. A unique piece of Arnold Palmer and Masters history!
