One of the seminal events of the 1970's was Evel Kneivel's attempted jump of the Snake River Canyon in Idaho. It was the culmination of a career built on daredevil stunts and self promotion that made Kneivel the most famous man in the world for a time. While the stunt would fail, the audacity of the attempt is what made Evel Kneivel so loved by so many. Here we see the rocket he used to attempt the jump as it sailed back to earth after the parachute had been prematurely ejected. Taken from a telephoto lens from 350 feet away, the clarity is still really nice making this one of the best images of Evel Knievel we have seen. Condition is quite nice as well.
