In one of the most tragic results of any 20th century boxing match, popular fighter Benny Paret was killed after he was beaten in the ring by Emile Griffin. The next morning, with Paret still in a coma, this photo was taken of his young son looking sad and dejected while holding a newspaper with the tragic headline. A somewhat inappropriate image that would never be taken today because of how insensitive it is to the family, it remains as both a tragic reminder of the incident and a relic of the times. A unique image that has never been offered before, it was taken by a photographer named Ed Clarity of the New York Daily News and bears a full paper caption on the back.
