Original 1920 photograph of young rookie Joe Sewell that was issued during Spring Training the next season when a story was being written on the young shortstop succeeding Ray Chapman. Issued by Underwood and Underwood, the photo is trimmed but retains tremendous clarity and contrast. This photo predates all of Joe Sewell's rookie baseball cards! Condition is not bad with a couple of small creases, the worst of which is reinforced with tape on the far right side (back). One of the earliest images of Joe Sewell you will ever see.
