The New York Yankees of the late 1920's were absolutely stacked, the likes of which will probably never be seen again. Led by Lou Gehrig, the greatest First Baseman of all time, they dominated the league and created a dynasty that remains one of the greatest of all time. Although dominant in every facet of the game, their infield was simply filthy. Led by Gehrig it also featured Hall of Famers Tony Lazzeri and Leo Durocher as well as stars Joe Dugan and Mark Koenig as well. The offered image by the International News is a nearly perfect portrait of the famed "Yankee Infield" and pictures (from L to R) Leo Durocher, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Joe Dugan, Mike Gazella, Gene Robertson and Mark Koenig. Taken just before the start of the World Series against the Cardinals, the clarity is perfect and the figure of Gehrig is among the best ever taken. One of the greatest images ever taken of the Bronx Bombers!
